The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, Parlophone, PMC 7027, mono. First Pressing, June 01, 1967.
Description:
The “Fourth Proof” sleeve represents the earliest possible pressing of the Sgt Pepper cover. The Fourth Proof was the final version of the various “prototypes” that were explored by the Beatles when the cover was being designed. The cover (and text) was approved by the Beatles and an initial very small test run was undertaken to make sure everything looked OK. This small test run is characterised by the inverted “Fourth Proof“ text in the top right hand corner of the inner gatefold just above George Harrison’s head. This is therefore the earliest possible “prototype” (test pressing) cover. Same fold-back have can printed text “AR D 1321″ which was probably the reference number for the prototype text that was used.

Disc Visual Grade: NEAR MINT!
Immaculate 'factory-fresh' deep-gloss playing surfaces without mark or blemish. Underneath a focused halogen spotlight a few barely visible wispy paper hairlines can be seen. Stunning.
Audio Grade: NEAR MINT!
The audio is fantastic. This copy has clearly only been played a handful of times on good quality equipment. There is no sign of groove/play wear. There are quiet lead-ins to both sides. You will not need to look for another copy of this fantastic record.
Sleeve Grade: EXCELLENT PLUS!
The sleeve retains its original gloss without hint of ring wear. The spine is fully readable with only faint signs of wear that are so rare on the Fourth Proof sleeve spines. All panels maintain bright colours and are clean without discolouration. Superb.
