THE BEATLES
'SGT PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND'
In October 1969 EMI Records UK launched their new 'One EMI Box' label. It was then decided to attempt to launch The Beatles' UK Parlophone LPs in the USA - eight of which had never before been available in the USA.
A memo dated 21.10.69 (pictured lower right) circulated by EMI to Beatles Press Officer Derek Taylor, announced 'release dates for all Beatles recordings on the Parlophone label only.' Christened the 'PCS SERIES', promotional copies bearing special black & white cover stickers were sent to Capitol. However, protecting their own interests was paramount and the idea was flatly rejected leaving the Parlophone LPs officially unavailable in the USA until the 1990's.
This 'One EMI Box' copy bears one of these promotional stickers, plus a photocopy of the original EMI memo as mentioned above.
The sound quality on each of these 'One EMI Box' copies is comparable to and sometimes better than the original 'yellow & black' label copies. All were cut using the same tapes and all bear the same matrix numbers.

EXCELLENT
Clean, vibrant & glossy with a small bend to the lower right corner and a 2cm laminate split to the upper seam. The front panel carries the special 'PCS Series NOT FOR RESALE' sticker in the upper left corner.The spine is clean & readable and there is no other significant or major wear inside or out.
