Description
Beatles Twist and Shout PARLOPHONE EP, 1N/2N PRESS
The Beatles, Twist and Shout.
1963 UK Parlophone 7" EP housed in picture sleeve, GEP 8882.Earliest issue with black and yellow label, upper case "Parlophone Co. Ltd." and "Recording First Published 1963" lettering. No "Sold in the UK" text and KT tax code embossed to centre area. 1N/2N matrix suffixes.
Vinyl in acceptably clean condition. Only light evidence of marks around the spindle areas, and vinyl surfaces still have a good gloss. Surfaces display a few light superfcial marks, but no deep scratches, and on the whole this EP is in far better condition than the majority which surface. Playback is clean and bright and without noticeable crackle, ticks or jumps.
Note that dark mark to top of vinyl in photo is merely a reflection.
Labels are clean and undefaced both sides.
Sleeve still very clean and bright. Front still has a really nice gloss and is undefaced and free of creases. The lightest touches of a ringwear impression are only noticeable when the sleeve is angled in front of a light source, really very marginal. Predominantly white rear still has an overall bright gloss, free of browning or age darkening. Backflaps are in perfect order. One tiny dark mark near bottom of rear, and touches of a ringwear mark, but this to an area of only about an inch, to the left hand side. "No.2" has been penned in red felt tip to the top of the rear of the sleeve. This covers an area of just under an inch across, but is fairly neat, and in a blank area free of text, so possibilities for touching-up. Edges are very clean and tidy with no knocking or fraying. No laminate peeling and entry side still very sharp and not feathered. All in all a pretty well preserved sleeve.
