READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

Beatles VI 1st Pressing MONO LP 1965 Decca Consignment in Partial Shrink, NM Vinyl!

Vinyl--- NM/NM.  Stunning beautiful vinyl, looks nearly unplayed.  Side 1 looks exactly as it did in 1965, when the shrink was peeled open.  Side 2 has some nearly undetectable light angel hairs, but otherwise looks like blinding vinyl surface.  A resplendent copy!

Plates--- P16 (which looks like “PIG”)/ T4G (which doesn’t.)  The Decca plant used no insignia, and none appears in the dead wax.

Cover--- VG+.  The cover is beautifully protected within the areas that fall under the shrinkwrap.  But the areas exposed have yellowed a little, have foxed a little.  Most of the front cover is under shrink, and about a third of the back is under shrink.

Covers provided to Decca are the later MONO covers that don’t have the “See label for correct playing order” disclaimers, nor do they have RIAA numbers.

Back cover still has the price code stamped on the upper right corner, which I always found to be really cool.

Muscular-strong seams and spine, NO SPLITS. Not even almost.

Breathe Holes--- Decca plants did not make use of breathe holes in their shrinkwrap.

Labels--- NM/NM.  1965-brand new-looking labels.  NO SPINDLE MARKS.  “Words of Love” publishing is credited to ASCAP.  Subsequent pressings were changed to BMI, making this a first pressing Decca.

Labels are flat against the vinyl.  Concentric groove closer to the playhole come from Decca lathes. 

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- VG.  Consignment plants in 1965 were supplied with the cream-colored Capitol inner sleeves, which have the words, “Capitol Records, Inc.” two layers deep all around the periphery.  No die-cut hole for the labels to show. 

Has the west coast thumb tab, as well as the LA job number printed in the bottom left corner.

This sleeve lies flat and presents well, however; it has a bottom center split about 4 inches long.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.

RIAA: N/A.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
