With The Beatles 1963
Decca contract pressing
PMC 1206-Mono
Matrix: XEX 447-7N and XEX 448-7N
Stampers: 3 and 4 (no letters on Decca discs)
Both sides of the disc are in fabulous condition and retain most of their original lustre, showing no signs of groove wear or dulling. All fun ins are near silent and apart from a mild pop on the opening track, the whole album plays without fault, producing flawless audio from this powerful mono mix. There are a few handling lines and needle marks in evidence but they are non-sounding.
The labels, which feature the distinctive Decca 'groove', are in excellent condition, with all text vibrant and undamaged and having just the usual collection of spindle trails.
The Garrod and Lofthouse cover is in top shape, with square corners, undamaged flipbacks and near pristine back panel, showing no more than mild age toning. The front does have some crescent shaped thumb bends in the laminate, near the open edge and a line in the laminate, running parallel to the spine, which has been there since manufacture. It appears to be where the laminate hasn't adhered to the paper, (see photo). The spine is perfect.
The original, 'patents applied for' polythene lined, Emitex inner sleeve is near mint.
All in all, a superb example of this rarer Decca variant.
