Original 1st US pressing promotional release of Black Sabbath’s self-titled debut album released by Warner Bros on June 1st, 1970. In general, the album received negative reactions partially due to the weak promotional campaign of Warner Bros. The first advert of the album we found in the Billboard magazine issue which came out one and a half months after the album’s release date. The advert shows a very rare photo of the band and the album’s front cover, with its slogan reading: “They’re from Birmingham, England. It’s a rough town. Their first album shows it - - tough, stark, uncompromising rock. And already No. Six in England.” Please see the listing’s last photo (Note that the advert isn’t included in the listing, just a photo of it for your reference). Many consider this record to be the first album in the style of real metal. Original cardboard single-type cover still remains in the Mint factory sealed condition with the fully intact shrink wrap having the original breathe holes on the front. This is only the second copy that we’ve come across with in such a condition. The front cover contains a pink “Promotional Copy Not For Sale” sticker with the Warner Bros. logo underneath the shrink wrap at the top right corner next to the “1841” catalog number which is also indicated at the top of the spine. Possibly, this promotional copy belonged to some radio station, which received it several weeks before the album’s official release date.
