Vertigo Black & White swirl release. Labels excellent+ condition , showing only an extremely faint spindle trace. Lightly played with NO mottling , peeling, rips nor tears. Black and white swirl label format exceptionally mesmeric and highly collectable.
Opens to soft raindrops and a solitary bell toll…… A clap of thunder launches the listener into a roar of electric guitar bashes and thunderous percussion beats through excellent audio channels. Bass tones are conveyed with a vibrant vigour , only experienced on these earliest pressings. Thick cut, heavyweight monster slab . The wider grooves from these earliest vertigo album releases transmit sensational vibrant tones unlike later pressings. At least an excellent aural delivery and considerably better in some parts!!! Gives the listener a trip of a lifetime . Distant static heard during the opening grooves of first track and occasionally during the quieter moments, but quite insignificant as music is heard for the most part, through clear channels, delivering the heavy rock guitar riffs with a much deeper resonance than later releases. One of the best deliveries ever heard from this hard rock vintage classic.
Vinyl surfaces are simply stunning and appear excellent+ under ordinary light conditions. Virtually unmarked save for a solitary hairline on each side, one extremely faint surface very difficult to pick up!!! Unbelievable visual for a heavy metal rock classic! NO scratches or unsightly blemishes to report. A magnificent specimen of a phenomenal rock classic . Thick cut, heavy weight press with much wider grooves than later releases and the vinyl is sheer class with a monster feel, the thicker quality vinyl producing a much better sound quality than the flimsier, later pressings.
Complete with the original black and white inner sleeve-excellent+ condition, with seams tight with little to fault. Date of issue stamped lower left corner. Slight fading only, due to ageing process.
Album sleeve
Again the genuine article, displaying lyrics INSIDE the inverted cross. Very early album cover with misprinted Osborne name .Black inner faces also rather than later reissues which were white in coloration. These trade marks authenticate one of THE earliest issues of this remarkable album sleeve. Spine square and solid, clearly showing title . Gatefold opens to jet black inner faces, which project the silver inverted cross with incredible clarity. Excellent+ condition . Tiniest corner wear observed with light top/lower spinal edge wear but otherwise a beautiful album gatefold, normally found heavily worn, owing to its delicate, matt finish. Edge wear just noticeable on lower edge, but virtually none on top edges. No feathering on opening where vinyl is pulled out of sleeve.A remarkable example of this very famous collectable sleeve 37 years old.
A beautiful album presentation with little to fault . Becoming extremely popular with collectors now and almost impossible to find in this EXCELLENT+/nr mint- condition .
Simply stunning and of true investment quality .
