Description
Released in 1986, Slippery When Wet became the breakthrough album that launched Bon Jovi into global superstardom. The record produced several of the band’s most iconic songs including “You Give Love A Bad Name,” “Livin’ On A Prayer,” and “Wanted Dead Or Alive,” helping the album become one of the defining rock releases of the 1980s.
This copy is a U.S. Mercury Records pressing, catalog 830 264-1, identified by the Mercury label design used during the mid-1980s and the matching catalog number printed on the labels and jacket. The runout groove includes the STERLING stamp indicating mastering at Sterling Sound, one of the most respected mastering facilities of the era, commonly associated with strong sounding rock pressings.
The deadwax also contains additional etched markings including A1B and matrix 830264-AS, along with lightly scratched-out numbers that appear to have been removed during the manufacturing process, something occasionally seen on production stampers.
Despite light cosmetic wear, this copy plays very well and includes the original printed inner sleeve with lyrics and credits.
