Benjamin Britten - Prince Of The Pagodas; London Stereo Treasury Sts 15081/82; Orchestra Of The Royal Opera House Covent Garden. 2 LPs
This is the great recording conducted by the composer of his ballet music for Prince Of The Pagodas. It is a 2 LP box set: This set has been on the Super Disc list of The Absolute Sound's Harry Pearson's for a good number of years. Harry is no longer with us, but rumor has it he so loved the music he took a copy with him to the next life. :-) The 2 lps are orange wide band, no cruve, and are immaculate and shiny. They appear unplayed. The box is superb condition as well. The set comes with the original liner notes. In case you're curious, I don't think this set was ever issued on London Blue Back or Decca Uk.
