Description
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us. Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over +22,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so.

MONSTER RATED 1966 local east coast GARAGE Lp pressed in micro quantity - sold only locally at local 'teen-scene' club circuits the band performed...
Also known as 'Half Tribe of Manasseh' , they shortened their name to The HALF TRIBE leaving just this one glorious vinyl artifact - (no 45s traced) ... a year later these Reading Pennslyvania rocker legends morphed into THE OTHER HALF issuing an equally rare LP on the private 7/2 label.
Reading Pennsylvania a 'nothing' town if there ever was, may have later spawned pop-star Taylor Swift BUT far more important were the birthplace of "The Half Tribe/Other Half"
The Half Tribe (Of Mannasseh) indeed played up and down the eastern seaboard and were very popular in their day. Their music being a raw, primitive combination of reverb guitar led surf rock and early garage rockers.
Imagine if you will a combination of the TRASHMEN meetnig the SONICS and KINGSMEN and you get the HALF TRIBE
THIS COPY SOLD FOR $750.00 YEARS OVER 14 AGO

- The Half Tribe issued but this one self financed album and promoted through their shows ...A highly rated and spirited affair including inspired takes, with example in the standard sixties rocker "Money," and their cheesy dirge-cha-cha "Death Of An Angel," plus cool takes on the Rolling Stones' "Empty Heart," "Summertime," and the frat-rave-up standard "Wine Wine Wine."
- Of the twelve tracks here, four are surf jammers in the style of the Trashmen, delivering primitive surf / garage rockers with a more rhythmic drive than the originals.
- "Malegueña" a rousing number is driven the Trashmen's style lending itself to monumental surf-rock scene. This arrangement is a quintessential landlocked reverb guitar led showcase. The performance is just as enthused as the Trashmen's, with reverb drenched guitar in-front adding to their unique dimension - and thrusting with a big infectious sound all the way.
- Likewise "Baja" is an inspired take on the Astronauts' arrangement. The flexibility of this tune speaks to the quality of Lee Hazelwood's writing back then. As with "Malegueña," the striking tremolo rhythm guitar out in front gets immediate 'cool' attention.
- Elsewhere is "Surf Battle" a seldom preformed tune especially with damped drive.
- Another great one is "The Lively Ones" a HALF TRIBE original and such a rhythmic chunky powerhouse cool arrangement.
- "San Jose" is an interpretation of the Freddie King tune based on the "Lively Ones" style yet The Half Tribe work the tune in a rhythm perspective, giving it a fresh feel.
After a couple years of touring the North East, the Half Tribe called it quits, members regrouped forming the legendary garage-punk OTHER HALF outfit, which had nothing to do with the Northern California 'Other Half' Randy Holden group LP of the same name, but by miles (and dollars value) another world away in terms of "rareness & collection value"

- CONDITION:
- The cover: rated: "EX" (excellent) and better, OPENS FROM THE TOP (!) ~ remaining CLEAN, only light use noticeable...thick old-style 1966 custom pressing original jacket design, well cared for and taken care of from 59 years ago....there are NO split seams, no bends, no writing, no delete marks...looks very collectible, and will serve as an investment collection-keeper moving forward !
- The vinyl: Rated: "EX" (excellent) definitely of the best '66 originals to be found >> the thick/heavy pressing retains original gloss.
- IF found at all would be most likely in lesser/rough (VG) shape due to 59 years of age and also possessed by 60's teenagers who treated records like a pair of old shoes. In comparison, pretty clean with pretty nice visuals and plays with awesome audio, not having surface distraction, rather enjoyable performance from side A to side B ~~
- both '66 FRED WEBER (MONO) labels are clean
