A green Beatles Process Test Pressing with exploded label on one side and A Beatles 45 rpm JUKEBOX ONLY gold/orange vinyl record biscuit. Most collectors have never seen one. In addition to the process test pressings collection that I purchased years ago from a retired quality control inspector for CBS Records there were also a few of these biscuits in the collection. He told me that the purpose of pulling the biscuit was to check weigh the sample for the correct amount of vinyl before running the record pressing process line. So a label from one side was placed face down, a squirt of the heated molten vinyl was applied to the label and the other label was applied face up and the resultant "biscuit" was formed and pulled before it could be pressed into the 45 rpm record. To wit: A 45 RPM Green Vinyl Process Test Pressing With Exploded Label On The "A" Side. Label number S7-18894-A: "Nowhere Man". Label number S7-18894-B: "What Goes On". Vinyl pressing flash still attached to perimeter of record. The 45 hole has not been punched. The "A" Side Label Disbursed (Exploded) Outward Due To The Extruded Green Vinyl Having Cooled A Little Prior To The Pressing Dies Being Engaged.
