CREAM "FRESH CREAM"
REACTION RECORDS Cat# 594 001
ORIGINAL UK STEREO issue
Matrix nos end A1 / B1
**********************************************************
CREAM became Eric Clapton's first 'own' band, where he was the leading light, rather than backing guitar player. He was already known around London especially, where he had played in The Yardbirds and John Mayall's Bluesbreakers. Now it was his outfit, 'Cream'.
Their live prowess promoted them in early days with some brilliant playing, and the reputation was soon firm. Eric Clapton was already touted as a guitar 'god', and this rhythm section from Graham Bond Organisation was hard to beat!
It features some excellent compositions, on the blue REACTION STEREO lable.
This predated the psychedelic era marginally, but they were already leaning towards it here!
A great record, surely a sixties landmark issue.
