PHILLES 105 (first pressing of withdrawn US single)

This-- this is worth your attention! This is a legendary record! This disc will take a place of pride in your collection. Indifference is not an acceptable reaction!!!

One of PHIL SPECTOR's most controversial recordings, this single (with two moody, superb, if strange) songs by GERRY GOFFIN and CAROLE KING, was withdrawn shortly after its July 1962 release. The first pressing of this disc was issued with the early orange "wiggle" logo label. Said label also mis-spelled Goffin's name as "Geoffin." The poor guy had many messed-up credits on 1960s 45s!

CONDITION:

VINYL: Label has large "NR" stamped over the Philles logo, plus some discoloration that appears to be ancient sticker residue. B-side label also has residue, but is otherwise clean. Labels are smooth and crisp, altho' A-side label has a small superficial scuff at the bottom of the spindle hole area. "Streaks" seen in scan are caused by my grumpy scanner--they are not on the record in any way, shape or form!

Vinyl has some audio "sizzle," as heard above, but looks lovely, with bright, mirror-like surface. A good cleaning will reduce the sizz somewhat. Sounds great--really good quality audio! Lots of luster. A solid EX+.
