Released in 1971, 'Teaser and the Firecat'(ILPS 9154) blasted Cat Stevens into international superstardom.  I consider this album almost like 'Tea For The Tillerman'(his previous release) part 2, because they are so similar in the way they were recorded and of course, the songs themselves. It's almost unheard of today, when an artist can release an album within a year, to match and perhaps, surpass the success of his previous one.  The copy I am offering is a 1st UK pressing on the "Pink Rim" Island Labels.  This particular pressing can be found with some effort. However, finding one in decent condition is another story. Quite difficult. This one plays beautifully; hardly any surface noise, revealing wonderful detail. The cover is also another issue.  This one is the VERY heavily "textured" version. Almost like the skin of an orange or pressed wool.  Extremely hard to find in decent condition and though the one I'm offering is not Mint, it certainly looks better than most.  I'm offering this for those who don't have the time and the money to waste until they find a near-perfect copy.  Believe me...the audio on this pressing is superb.

Condition of Gatefold Jacket: Excellent....some discoloration is evident... as well some rubbing/scuffing to the edges due to the fragile nature of the thick,  textured paper.  The spine has some wear but is still sturdy....an inoffensive indentation appears towards the top of the front cover. This is a very presentable and good example of a classic gatefold cover.

Condition of Record: Near Mint(minus)....in fact, 80% of this record plays in NEAR MINT condition.  The other 20% is just one notch below with maybe 4 or 5 "ticks" that are heard in total, which even  a new record will have.  Visually one can see some hairlines and superficial marks but none have any significant impact on the audio. The vinyl is quite heavy, probably between 140g to 160g. A really impressive audiophile experience.
