Charles Miller- Country Girl LP (V.I.R. Records JBE-LP-101) SIGNED BY PRODUCER JIMMY BROUGHTON
This is a very rare early 70’s private press funk jazz poetry album from Charles Miller. This was apparently reissued or bootlegged on the Joker label. This is an odd record that I’ve had for years but never really knew anything about, it is a kind of Blaxploitation era funk jazz poetry/proto rap album that reminds me of Melvin Van Peebles’ Brer Soul LP’s or a somewhat less political The Watts Prophets or a wilder Gil Scott Heron.Black Nursery appears on the LP "'Funky L.A.: Lost Funk & Rare Grooves From The Los Angeles Underground 1970-1975".
The back cover is signed by producer Jimmy Broughton.
