Description

This is a self titled album on Clef records called simply "Charlie Parker. Catalog # MG C-157. This is a very early 10" Lp. Joining Charlie Parker-alto saxophone, are Al Haig-piano, Max Roach-drums. and Percy Heath-bass. This is a great Bop record with a great drum break or horn riff on every cut. I am sure most jazz lovers are familiar with "The Bird" as Charlie was known. He was one of the greatest inventive voices in jazz. With the addition of 3 of the greatest rythym men in that era, they combine for a wonderful jazz record. The vinyl itself is VG+, and probably closer to VG++, because there are paper scuffs on both sides that do NOT affect play. The record has good sound with no areas that are distracting. There is some surface dust that I am sure can be cleaned, but all in all a superb sounding record. The cover is VG+ also, with som edge wear a small split where the record went through on the center of the bottom edge for about 1". This of course, as you can see from the picture is another great David Stone Martin cover design. There is some rubbing wear around the front cover in the black areas. There is also a small corner ding on lower right edge. Please view all my records on ebay.
