Description
Chet Baker, "I Get Chet", Very Rare Original 1957 Felsted PDL 85036 pressing.
This is a rare opportunity to obtain this extremely sought after Felsted pressing of one of Jazz's best trumpet players. this is not the reissue Cheescake version, this is the absolutely original made in England Felsted pressing from 1957.
I have play tested this record on my high end home system, Michell Gyro SE, Hadcock 242 se, Pickering xlz 7500s with an expert stylus sapphire cantilever and paratrace diamond, all through icon audio valve amps and Acoustic energy ae509 speakers. The record has also been cleaned on a project cleaning machine and should only be cleaned with a soft cloth or carbon/goat hair brush.
Apart from two scratches on side A band 1 and 3 the record plays lovely, beautiful tone and warmth as to be expected, no sibilance or wear noise at all. As mentioned some scuffs on side A inaudible and Side B is in superb condition. Bakers playing is sublime and comes across on this medium in a very involving and moving way. it will benefit from a system where mono can be switched on or a mono cartridge is in use.
The famous cover is in pretty good condition, there are some wear and tear points which I have photographed. please bear in mind that this album is nearly 70 yrs old.
Good luck and happy bidding.
