Description

This is a wonderful old UK Decca LP of field recordings made by blues scholar Paul Oliver. Recorded in 1960 in conjuntion with his book of the same name. As the name suggests there is just as much dialogue as there is music. The artists usually talk about themselves and their music then play their songs. The LP is not banded which gives the record a flowing experience to listen to. Some of the people will be familiar but all recordings were made for this record. Includes a 12" 6 page book which includes all dialogue and lyrics to the songs. A beautiful package. Record is M-. Cover shows yellowing on both covers. front cover is slick.
