Description

An original Mono 1st press of Disraeli Gears on the UK Reaction label. Matrix A1/B1 - very 1st cut from 1967. Please note both labels quote the publishing date as 1967. Copies from six months+ later are often found with a conflicting 1966/1967 publishing date error. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original mono front laminated cover. Now, do be aware that it is possible to find the very earliest copies with a fully laminated cover, but the printers switched to half lamination fairly quickly at release. An indicator that this copy is an early mono pressing is the fact that the 'mono' format indicator, on the rear, can be found in the top left corner, rather than in a white box over in the top-right.
Vinyl (Vg+) In great condition despite having seen a moderate level of use. Generally looking in pretty decent condition, but there are a few marks either side - nothing heavy or serious looking. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly VERYGOOD+ level of playback with one slight deviation. These early mono's really do produce audio to die for... Do expect some light interference is places. We're talking some low-level static and the occasional tick. In fact, the only track that static starts to vaguely intrude at all is the final one - Mother's Lament. A very decent playing true 1st mono edition..what's not to like?
Cover (Ex-) Very nice and clean front and back not perfect - but looks real nice. That front is very nice and shiny without the usual creasing. There's just a touch of light fade toward the spine, but it's not that noticeable really. The rear - which is not laminated - has survived in excellent condition, with barely a crease. Do expect a bit of edger wear - mostly on the spine. The spine hasn't worn through at any point, but don't expect to be able to make out any text at all. Overall the cover still retains excellent rigidity.
