An original 1st mono press of GEARS on UK Reaction. Matrix A1/B1. Please note the publishing credit appears on the labels as 'Windfall' - this was removed soon after 1st issue. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in a TRUE 1st issue Mono cover which is fully laminated [front and back] - which was discontinued fairly shortly after 1st release.. Please note on the rear 'mono' appears top left and the side 2 track listing in the 'Eye' appears in white. This is all perfectly consistent with genuine 1st issue. We have a plastic bag warning inner too. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) In lovely condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a few light marks per side - nothing heavy or troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with two deviations. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. By and large a nice clean player and you'll be treated to some of that legendary early mono ambiance. Even into the fussier tracks a good clean player e.g. Blue Condition. The only track I could detect a touch of background in was 'Strange Brew' - perhaps just due to its sheer popularity and being track 1. Nothing upfront at all - it just won't play quite as clean as the other tracks.  A couple of crackles in a couple of spots in 'Going Wrong' - but plays much better/cleaner than you typically tend to find. One solitary click midway through 'Take It Back'. Highly entertaining. Highly recommended.
Cover (Vg+) Nice clean surfaces front and rear. The front is superb with hardly any creasing. On the rear there is a crease bottom right corner and a couple of surface scuffs top right corner. A bit of edge wear in places - particularly along bottom edge. A one inch wear-through patch for one inch middle of top edge [tape repaired internally]. Starting to wear-through in final one inch of bottom edge at opening [tape repaired to stop it deteriorating]. The spine looks superb with all text fully legible and minimal wear [unusual]. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Minimal ageing. Bag present. One side spit has been taped up.
