Description

Thanks for looking at my listing, which is for a hard to find, original 4AD pressing of the 1993 Dead Can Dance masterpiece "Into The Labyrinth". 4AD records from this era are like artwork. Almost every one had unique textured sleeves and inner sleeves, and the vinyl is high quality. This is one of the best sounding records I have ever owned. And it's a great album as well. I have only played it 3-4 times at most and I bought it new. The vinyl of "Into The Labyrinth" also contained two bonus tracks,  "Bird" and "Spirit", which were released on their earlier compilation "A Passage In Time" as bonus tracks.
You can see a full tracklisting here:

Track listing[edit]

  1. "Yulunga (Spirit Dance)" – 6:56
  2. "The Ubiquitous Mr Lovegrove" – 6:17
  3. "The Wind That Shakes the Barley" – 2:49
  4. "The Carnival Is Over" – 5:28
  5. "Ariadne" – 1:54
  6. "Saldek" – 1:07
  7. "Towards the Within" – 7:06
  8. "Tell Me About the Forest (You Once Called Home)" – 5:42
  9. "The Spider's Stratagem" – 6:42
  10. "Emmeleia" – 2:04
  11. "How Fortunate the Man With None" – 9:15

Tracks written by Dead Can Dance (Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry), except track 3 (words and music by Dr Robert Dwyer Joyce, traditional, arranged by Dead Can Dance) and track 11 (words by Bertolt Brecht, English translation by John Willett).

The limited edition double vinyl LP had / 1–3 / 4–7 // "Bird" 8–9 / "Spirit" 10–11 / adding the following:

  • "Bird" – 5:00
  • "Spirit" – 4:59

They were the two earlier bonus tracks from the 1991 compilation A Passage in Time, and they were collected again on Dead Can Dance (1981-1998) (2001).

CONDITION:

Vinyl - NM-

Jacket - VG+ to EX

I bought this LP new, and have only played it 3-4 times, however, the textured paper used in it's jacket is almost a magnet for wear and little creases, which are present around the spines. There is also a touch of wear in each corner and some ringwear on the back. You can zoom in in the photos and get an idea what you are looking at. It's still in very solid, and very clean overall condition. The LP comes with the original inner sleeves and has no seam splits. The discs both play beautifully, with barely any surface noise over both discs. There are a couple of small sleeve marks on two sides, but nothing that greatly affects play. This LP is a joy to listen to, and will put your stereo to the test. The bass on "Spirit" is phenomenal.

SHIPPING INFO:

$4 in the US for up to 3 LPs and delivery confirmation.

$7 to Canada, $3 for each additional LP.

$15 to the Rest of the World, $5 for each additional LP.

Every LP I sell (unless sealed) is vacuumed on a VPI professional record vacuum, and the LP is placed in a new, poly-lined inner sleeve (all original inner sleeves remain with LP). The jacket is placed in a brand new, poly outer sleeve.

I take great care to package LPs. I use thick cardboard mailers designed for mailing records, with adequate filler pads to keep them from shifting around. However, I cannot be responsible for items lost or damaged in the mail. I can insure your purchase in the US for an additional charge. I can also insure the LP shipping to outside of the US, but I will have to declare the insurance value on the customs form, which might result in a duty when you receive the item depending on the insured value. All international items sent without insurance will be marked "Gift" with a value of $5-10.

PAYMENT INFO:

PAYPAL ONLY PLEASE!

RECORD GRADING INFO:

Please keep in mind that all grading is subjective, and I have had many people compliment me that their LP was better than described. Your satisfaction is very important to me. If you see a minus (-) next to a grade, then feel safe knowing that it is just slightly off of that particular grade, but not enough to drop it further down the scale.

Still Sealed (SS)

A brand new, still sealed LP. Never played or opened. A record with this grade could have tiny, insignificant corner bumps or dings, and this will be disclosed in the listing.

Near Mint (NM)

This LP and jacket are like new, with barely any noticeable wear at all. An LP might have a couple of light surface marks on the disc that do not affect play. The jacket is either still in the shrinkwrap or outside, but close to perfect.

Very Good Plus Plus (VG++)

This LP and jacket have minor imperfections, but nothing too serious. There might be a few light creases around the spine (common for european and UK imports) or a small seam split. The corners might have light dings or dents, that could have been there since the LP left the factory (Not all brand new records are perfect).  The jacket could have very minor ringwear on the front or back. The LP itself may have several light sleeve marks, which may cause some audible surface noise during playback, but they're very minor and don't affect enjoyment of the LP. The LP may have a slight warp, which does not affect playback.

Very Good Plus (VG+)

This LP and jacket are in slightly more worn condition. The LP has been played quite a few times, and might have several noticeable sleeve marks or light scratches. It has a fair amount of surface noise during playback, but is still enjoyable and has plenty of life left. The jacket has more noticeable ringwear, creases or corner dings and dents. This LP is fine for the average record buyer, but someone who has to have a perfect copy will want to wait for one in better shape.
