Description

DONALD BYRD – BYRD BLOWS ON BEACON HILL – TRANSITION TRLP 17 – VG+/VG+ - INCLUDES BOOKLET – MONO

This Transition session was recorded on May 7, 1956 in Boston, MA and features Donald Byrd on trumpet, Ray Santisi on piano, Doug Watkins on bass and Jimmy Zitano on drums. SIDE A: LITTLE ROCK GETAWAY; POLKADOTS AND MOONBEAMS and PEOPLE WILL SAY WE’RE IN LOVE. SIDE 2: IF I LOVE AGAIN; WHAT’S NEW and STELLA BY STARLIGHT. This LP comes with the original booklet, including the liner notes by Tom Wilson and photographs. This is a MONO recording.

Judging the vinyl was difficult but I had to give it a VG+, as well as the record jacket. The vinyl on this LP is clean of any marks, however, the previous owner taped on the label on Side B a long time ago and some of the tape remains. The LP plays as it should, but will not reject on Side B. You will have to lift the arm of your turntable. The other issue is that this LP has only one label, which is Side A. I don’t know why they even bothered to tape it on! The labels are secure now and this would have given at least an EX grade on the vinyl, except for the above. The record jacket was given a VG+ grade as it has two taped seams, the top seam and the spine. The bottom seam is good. Other than the seam issue, the record jacket shows not much wear, as the cover is clean, as well as the back of the record jacket. Due to the fact it is a rare record, I had to list it, but take into consideration the issues regarding the labels and the taped surface in the blank vinyl. If you have any questions, please email me and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks.

PAYMENT & SHIPPING

Satisfaction guaranteed on item. I regret that the USPS has raised their prices. The LP will be well packed. Fully packed in a crush proof box, it weighs 1.10 pounds. Due to increased cost, I have to charge an additional $1.00 for packing in the crush proof box. Believe me, it’s worth it! The method of payment is PayPal. As of October 20, 2008, eBay has decided to make PayPal the only method of payment for this item! This way, eBay has you coming and going! If you are a bidder who prefers to pay by other means, I suggest that you file a complaint! I regret the inconvenience. The LP will be shipped either by Media Rate @ $3.09 or by Priority Mail @ $6.80 and up depending where you reside. Overseas bidders should consider First Class Mail International. The cost to Europe and Asia begins at $22.75 in the crush proof box. It’s worth it! USPS has hammered overseas shipping!
