Description

An original UK 1st Pressing on RCA. Matrix 3T/3T - the 1st cut. Etching 'Bobil/Rasputin' - indicative of 1st press. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original cover which is unlaminated. These early covers have the GEM logo apparent, but NOT the 'Mainman' logo. We have the original lyric insert. And a plain white original inner. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) In very nice condition and has only seen relatively light use. There are a few light marks per side and one patch of scuffing [some of which does sound briefly]. If you're someone who needs really clean surfaces - perhaps move onto the next copy. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly NEAREXCELLENT level of playback with a few deviations on side 1. Side 2 is a step up - EXCELLENT throughout. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity - by and large. The main issue on this title is finding the fussy number 8 Line Poem playing clean. And this one plays better than average with little background. There are a few marks on side 1. I'm getting a couple of ticks at the start of 'Changes', a couple in 8 Line Poem, a couple as 'Mars' closes out. So, side 1 plays well, and above average, but not faultlessly. Side 2 has seen lighter use. This one is easier to grade - a solid Ex throughout. Even Bewley Brothers plays clean. Overall an excellent average on this highly collectable 1st press.
Cover (Vg+) Difficult to find these original covers in decent condition - but this example  tidy. The front looks clean and only exhibits some light handling. The rear looks good with only light signs of ageing. There's one 'tick' in biro top left. Edge wear is lightish for this title. The text on the spine is all legible which is good to see. Overall - very nice indeed.
Insert (Vg+) A few foxing spots. Nothing nasty looking.
Inner (Vg) Aged. A one inch side split - taped up.
