Description

An original 1972 copy of ODDITY on the USA RCA label [Dynaflex]. This title was first released in 1969, but it took a relaunch on RCA a couple of years later, before Bowie started to hit the mainstream. This pressing is one of the earliest pressings by RCA. Matrix 2S/2S. The vinyl is lightweight Dynaflex so don't expect anything heavy. That being said this is one incredibly well preserved early slab of vinyl - and it sounds amazing. The vinyl comes housed in an original havy-card Shorepak cover - which is in absolutely stunning condition. Also included is the original inner sleeve. Sorry, no poster!
Vinyl (Ex+) In remarkable condition and really has only seen slight use. Under close inspection there are a couple of very light marks per side - absolutely nothing significant or in anyway anything to worry about. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are really very nice and quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. Beautifully rendered with no background, almost none. Remember there are plenty of rockers, but lots of acoustic passages. You're going to need a super clean copy to stand even half a chance of delivering 'Five Years' with total clarity. Overall an amazingly well preserved original copy that would be difficult to equal let alone better. You might detect a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side. What an album...what a rendition!! FINAL UPGRADE
Cover (Ex+) I almost never use this grading for covers - and the reason is that they very very rarely can properly attain this grading. But this example is truly remarkable and is by far the best copy I've ever seen. Back and front are pretty much perfect..they literally look like a brand new cover...I had to do a double take to begin with because I couldn't quite believe it. Totally and perfectly flat with an amazing finish and perfect colours. There are no creases at all - with no observable wear on those surfaces, on this title, this is extremely unusual. There's no observable edge wear and the spine is 100% perfect. Openings are sharp and the corners square. Basically it's as perfect as you could ever hope to find. FINAL UPGRADE.
Inner (Ex) Given the delicate nature of these inners even a half decent example is a difficult find. But yet again this example scores in all the right places. No splits. Hardly any wear at all. Just a couple of creases.
