Description

An original 1st press on RCA of Space Oddity in the UK in 1972. Please be aware that there is a super-rare 1969 issue with different cover on the Phillips label. This release in 1972 was part of a Bowie relaunch on RCA. Matrix 1E/1E - very 1st cut possible. Please note publishing credits mention 'Titanic' and this indicates the pressing dates from the period just before Bowie hit it big with Ziggy Stardust. Later copies would mention 'Mainman' rather than Titanic. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Robert Stace cover without the Mainmain logo. Also included is the original lyric inner sleeve. 
Vinyl (Vg/Vg+)  In very nice condition despite having seen moderate use. Under close inspection there are a number of light marks either side - nothing feelable though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly VERYGOOD+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are quiet and the audio comes across with very good clarity. In a couple of tracks these marks do impact a bit and you're going to get a few crackles here and there. But it is never what I'd call invasive. Other than that the audio quality delivered is really good on this Bowie classic. 
Cover (Vg) In nice shape and has been looked after down the years. This title is often found with a good deal of handling wear. But this copy is still well preserved with some moderate handling wear. Colours are still nice and vivid, but there's a bit of ring wear and some marks in the top-right on the front. Edge wear is reasonably light and all the text on the spine is fully legible. Overall the cover retains very good rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing, but no splits.
