Description


Dizzy Reece "Progress Report" LP. This is the original UK TEMPO MONO press from 1957 (TAP 9).  Nice laminated flip back sleeve, heavyweight microgroove vinyl. Machine stamped Matrices 'VMGT-1101-1E' & 'VMGT-1101-1B'.  Features Dizzy Reece (trumpet), Dave Goldberg (guitar), Johnny (piano), Lennie Bush (bass), Phil Seaman (drums), Ronnie Scott (tenor sax), Terry Shannon (piano), Victor Fieldman (piano), Lloyd Thompson (bass). Extremely rare UK jazz LP that is over 50yrs old!  FREE SHIPPING!!!

Vinyl Description:
Vinyl is in nice condition.  Textured labels are nice and clean, no writing or stains. Has some spider marks but not overly noticeable. Visually has a lot of hairline marks - none of which are too dramatic. There is a very small hairline mark on side 2, during track 2 that is slightly feelable (please read audio review below). Really have to look hard to find it and is not that significant but worth mentioning due to the highly desirable nature of the LP.  Sound quality is still strong and vibrant. Plays through solidly on both sides and is an enjoyable listen.  Side 1 starts with crackles continuing throughout the first half of the track, then diminishing as the side plays through becoming only noticeable during quieter moments in between the tracks.  Side 2 starts with crackles but diminishes very quickly becoming only noticeable again during quieter moments. there is a very minor slight tick during the middle of track 1 and again during the middle of track 2. these both don't last long - a few rotations at most. I must stress that these are both unobtrusive and take nothing away from the audio. If I wasn't aware of the slight feelable mark I wouldn't have paid any attention for it while listening. The last two tracks on side 2 play through nice and cleanly with no background noise.  The vinyl could do with a professional machine clean which I suspect would improve the sound quality even further. As I stated above it has some visible marks which aren't too dramatic and don't take much away from the strong and vibrant sound quality. NO jumps or skips. If your after a perfect pristine archival copy this is not for you. I would grade the vinyl as a STRONG VG. 
Sleeve Description
Sleeve is in nice condition.  Laminate flip back sleeve printed in England by West Brothers, Mitcham, Surrey. Has a very small laminate lift on the top rear of opening edge (see pic 3).  The laminate has also split and is peeling in the middle of the spine (see pic 4). It is only the laminate that has split and not the spine itself.  Corners have scuffing.  Theres NO other writing, seam splits, tears, marks etc and spine print is completely legible.  I would grade the sleeve as a VG to VG+. 
Overall: While this is most definitely not a mint copy it is still a very strong example of a very rare and collectable UK jazz LP, especially taking into consideration a record and sleeve that is well over 50yrs old! Please ignore any postage prices - this item will be sent via fully insured and trackable shipping for free worldwide!!!
