Description
This is the original deep groove RVG-stamped “P”-pressing of Donald Byrd “Byrd in Flight” on Blue Note BLP 4048. The playing surface is in excellent condition, with a nice luster; a small mark at the beginning of the second track on Side 2 produces three tics; a hairline on the second track of Side 1 produces three light tics; “Review Copy” stamped on the Side 1 label. The laminated New York 23 cover is bright and clean throughout; ¼” wear at the spine corners; 1 ¼” crease at the top right corner; 1 ½” crease/ding at the lower right corner; 1” break at the center of the top seam; 1” lamination flaking on the bottom seam, at the opening; “Review Copy” stamped at the top of the back slick. Personnel include Hank Mobley, Jackie McLean, Duke Pearson, Doug Watkins, and Lex Humphries. $300.00.
