Description

Here is a real favorite Edison Diamond Disc record from my collection for your consideration.  And this title is a hard one to find on Edison (or any record for that matter).  I’ve always wondered why it is that some of the most enduring and popular hits from the 1920’s are so incredibly difficult to find on any record of that era.  Recorded in New York City on April 2, 1925 and released on Edison Diamond Disc number 51542, this is The Golden Gate Orchestra performing the immortal “Charleston”.  This is a beautifully arranged version of “Charleston” and one that will definitely get your feet tapping.  On the flip side we have “Mamie” by Frank Silver’s Orchestra.  This was great pairing as the “Mamie” side also features a nice jazzy arrangement.  Both sides are in great looking and great playing condition and both sides play nicely start to finish.  There are a couple of very light inaudible scratches and a very slightly raised area on the rim of “Charleston” affecting nothing and a couple of small edge lamination flakes on the “Mamie” side again affecting nothing as these are well away from any grooves.  If you enjoy listening to great vintage jazz on Edison Records and don’t already own this title then do yourself a favor and get a copy of it.  You’ll love it.  Buyer will pay shipping costs of $4.50 for US Postal Media Service or $7.50 for Priority US Postal Service.  Please be sure to check out some more selected items from my collection that I’m hoping to be listing soon.  Thanks for stopping in and please feel free to give a shout if you have any questions on this item.
