Lovely copy of the rare 1957 4 LP boxed set of both volumes of the classic Ella Fitzgerald Sings the Duke Ellington Song Book double LPs on Verve MGV-4008-2 and MGV-4009-2, included together in this one box, MGV-4010-4. Very rare to find this complete box, with the booklet. The discs are all just beautiful with only a few very light scuffs. The first volume plays just beautifully with only the tiniest crackle between some songs. Sides 2 and 3 begin with a slight swish, but it is barely audible as soon as the music starts, and fades away very quickly. Not a big deal at all. The second volume has a similar swish on side two, also barely an issue. There is a touch more crackle on side three than the rest, but side four plays flawlessly. Really the whole thing plays just gorgeously and is just a lovely listen all the way through. The two gatefold covers are very nearly pristine, just gorgeous. The booklet is also just about pristine. The box is intact and nice looking but the top has torn corners and a bit of fraying at some edges. Also a further edge tear at the bottom. None of it is all that bad. The spine is just fine and the hinge is still attached. The lower part of the box that holds the records is perfectly intact with no torn corners. There is one tear at the right edge, also not bad. This is truly a beautiful set, very rare to find complete, and in such lovely condition.
