ELO / Ralph McTell BBC Transcription LP STEREO POP SPECIAL 63 POP SPECTACULAR 1974 SEE RECORD DETAILS Pro Cleaned . On UK BBC Transcription Records CN 2005/S . Please see photos for track listings . Please note that i am selling this LP purely for the ELO side S1 , whilst S2 does play fine , it does have more noise present and some ticks and pops ( some loud ) and there is a bad and loud stick near the end , i think there also may have been a couple of brief skips in places . Please also note that there are no cue / press sheets etc with this one . I would grade S2 of the LP as a collection filler only .
COVER: Factory BBC goldy coloured poly lined single card cover generally in very good overall condition . A few light and small general age related / surface / handling marks in places . The usual ring wear marks are present and there is some creasing and denting present , mainly round the edges , there are also a couple of very small tears on the edges . Some normal useage / age related wear on the side opening edges and the poly lining has been folded over and stuck down over the opening edges , there are some usual but small bits of fraying / rubbing and denting etc on and just near to the corners , there are some bits of usual rubbing in places on the edges , the cover is writing free . I will also be putting the record into a new plain white paper sleeve . There is also a near new thick plain white card outer sleeve supplied with this one .
INNER SLEEVE: New plain white paper inner sleeve .
LABELS: Slightly off white and light green with black print paper labels generally in near excellent condition , still generally nice and clean with just two or three very light / faint marks on S2 label and just a very few usual but light spindle marks , both labels are writing free .
RECORD: The overall visual grade of the playing surface under normal average household light conditions of S1 is a very very very strong very good condition , though many i think would say easily airing a lot closer to between very good and near excellent overall , some may even say closer to the near excellent side better overall , with just a couple of very very light / faint non feelable surface marks and just some very very light and fine mainly whispy type hairlines and sleeve removals , there are no nasty gouges / nasty scratches whatsoever , i will also say that a lot of these finer hairlines are really only more visible when held at certain angles to or under a light . S2 is only good visually overall ( not audibly ) , with a few all be it very very small / tiny but feelable scratches which do cause the bad stick and possible couple of skips ( i say this as i am only retesting S1 and i can't remember if there were the couple of skips ) but there are quite a few pops and ticks present ( some loud ) with some crackle in places also present , there are just some usual but very light and fine hairlines and sleeve removals , many just seen at certain angles to or under a light . I would only grade S2 of the LP as a collection filler only . Please see below for audio description .
** As i say i have tested this once before and am selling more just for the ELO S1 so please read the notes above as i am only giving a full audio description to the ELO S1 ** .
AUDIO A SIDE: Silent run in has some usual but generally very light noise . It plays mostly near excellent , beautifully crisp and clear throughout on the music playback with really not a lot in the way of obvious noise that was worthy of mention , mainly just a few very light pops ticks , some very light indeed , these were mainly 0ne very very light pop half way into T1 , the faintest briefest bits of vinyl noise on the intro and very start of T2 , there was the odd very light pop and approx four light ticks on the second half of T2 , but this could be the first part of T3 , there wasn't an introduction for T3 some i'm not sure as i'm not an avid ELO fan , sorry , there was a passage of light ticks on T5 , being ultra picky there was the very very very occasional bit of very very light / faint noise in some quieter places , there was no nasty continuous crackle present , there may just have been the odd faint isolated pop that i may have missed . Silent run off has some usual but generally quite light noise . This side on the music really does play and sound great overall and the audio tones are still awesome .
AUDIO B SIDE: N/A please see above info .
The record still retains a very nice shine . Any noises tend to be in short bursts only , are over quickly , are not constant and do not spoil any enjoyment . If any noises are more frequent or louder etc , they will be described separately in the above detailed descriptions thank you .
All in all a nice ( S1 only ) example of this now rare and very collectable item . Thank you very much for your time and interest and happy bidding . Please do read the following ref record gradings explained thank you .
Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times , but displays no major deterioration in sound quality , despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch , some forms of noise will more than likely be heard in places especially on the quieter parts and the odd tick or pop may also be heard in places especially on the quieter parts , but none of this will overpower any of the music in any way , light edge warps etc and some light " dishing " are acceptable but will not affect the play or sound quality at all , any warps that are more prominent will be described in more detail . Please see the descriptions above for the cover condition .
Very Good / Near Excellent: The record has obviously been played but shows no overly excessive play wear . There will be some light only surface marks though most will be just fine hairlines , there will be no major deterioration in sound quality at all though some amount of light noise / occasional light pop may be present in places especially on some of the quieter parts , but none of this will be loud or constant or overpower any of the music , the record will play through perfectly , light edge warps etc and some light " dishing " are acceptable but will not affect the play or sound quality at all , any warps that are more prominent will be described in more detail . Please see the descriptions above for the cover condition .
Near Excellent: The record has obviously been played but shows only light signs of this , a few of the lightest non feelable surface marks being mostly very fine hairlines will be present , but it displays no deterioration in sound quality . Some brief bits of very light noise and very occasional usual light pop maybe present in places and would be acceptable on some quieter parts , but none of this will be loud or constant or overpower any of the music , light edge warps etc and some light " dishing " are acceptable but will not affect the play or sound quality at all , any warps that are more prominent will be described in more detail . Please see the descriptions above for the cover condition .
Excellent : The record shows some signs of having been played , but there is very little lessening in sound quality , light edge warps etc and some light " dishing " are acceptable but will not affect the play or sound quality at all , any warps that are more prominent will be described in more detail. Please see the descriptions above for the cover condition .
