Offered from my smoke-free private collection. A special 12-inch 3 LP box release from Mosaic Records. Mosaic's 3 LP re-release of "Ella & Duke at the Cote D'Azur is pressed on 180-gram vinyl. This is a re-release of the original 2-LP set, plus the Ellington album "Soul Call" issued from the same concerts. This set - available in an LP-only release includes 20 compositions, an historical analysis and track by track breakdown by Brian Preistly, plus many rarely seen photographs. Essentially this set presents everything that was chosen, approved and released by the producer and the artists at the time. Limited to 5,000 pressings, this is #567. This box set is in "like new" condition, the LPs sound wonderful. The box itself does have some "tearing" at the edges of the bottom box - you can see from the pictures provided. This is important to those who care about the box condition, but I can tell you that this phenomena is common with the Mosaic box sets - the covering "shrinks" and tends to pull away. This is NOT from shelf wear or pulling of the shelf numerous times. As you can see from the pictures, this box looks new from the front and sides. Un-opened sets sell for $175 and up. I have listed this box set at what I feel is a compelling value for jazz lovers in general, and Ella and Duke fans specifically. This box set will ship via USPS media mail and in a purpose-designed mailer for LP box sets.
