E-Z Country Programming No. 3 Promo 10inch Lp
January 1956! RCA is spreading the word about their new artist, Elvis Presley and His 1st RCA Recording, "Heartbreak Hotel". Recorded January 10, 1956 The Single Changed Pop Music Forever. No More would Perry Como, and Sinatra control the pop charts. "Heartbreak Hotel" races up the charts but there is another hot platter fighting it out to be Rock'n'Roll's 2nd #1 (Rock Around the Clock, reissued in Late 1955 became the 1st!) The record, Carl Perkin's "Blue Suede Shoes" on Sun. Carl get his song to #2, then Presley records it for his 1st Lp. RCA knew Elvis could become a well rounded artist. But they also knew he had a large Country following. Most Radio Executives didn't like Rock'n'Roll. So What to do??? RCA released several ten inch promo lps to Country stations. Most of the songs are pure country with artist like, Jim Reeves, Chet Atkins, Hank Snow, and Hawkishaw Hawkins. The country stations were sure to play them. So The 1st song is Heartbreak Hotel" on Side 1 and its B-side "I Was The One" as the last song on side 2. RCA only made 6 sets of these 10 inch promos. They were pressed on a cheaper vinyl the regular lps and were meant to be thrown out. That's why there so rare today. Most being worth over $300. And One of Only a Hand full of Elvis Ten Inch Promos in the World. WOW!

There is No US 1956 White Label Promo of "Heartbreak Hotel" In 1964 the Gold Standard Reissue was released as a white label and Lists the recording Date. Most People think its from 1956 but its from 1964! So This was the first Appearence of the Song Ever! Incredibly Rare! Since there was only one pressing of this Promo Lp, This is a 1st pressing RCA E-Z Country Programming No. 3 (G80L-0199/0200) White Promo Labels with "Dancing Hillbiies" Machine Stamped Matrix Numbers. Clearly Printed Labels with checks next to songs that the DJs could Play. Mono only. Vinyl is scratchy some songs sound betters that others this record was played at the station alot Not A Mint Record. Just Really Rare! Being sold as an artifact only! No Sleeve was made for this Lp!
Most winning bidders state that the records I sell are in better condition than I grade, but I believe this is a misnomer. I grade according to the price guides and don't use "Wishful Grading"!
