Here’s a very rare Elvis Presley album! This is Elvis’ first LP, on the RCA Victor label, number LPM-1254 from 1956. The very first initial pressings of this LP had an error on the label… it seems that nobody was quite sure who wrote the song “Just Because”, so for the credits on the label they put “P.D.” for public domain. Soon thereafter, the writer of the song came forward, demanding payment for use of his song, so the credits were changed. This is one of the rare initial pressings. Condition-wise, this record is worn. I’m calling it G+… lots of scuffs, some scratches, plays with surface noise and pops. It didn’t skip when I played it on my high-end audiophile turntable. However, your results may vary, particularly if you’re playing it on a cheapo record player. There is the remnants of a blue sticker on the side one label. The cover presents well, nice graphics on the front, some seam splitting, staining, and general age wear on the back. These very rarely turn up, regardless of condition!
