Ewan MacColl – Shuttle and Cage, 1957 10” LP Topic 10T 13.
This is a surprisingly nice example of the 10” LP – Shuttle and Cage by Ewan MacColl, accompanied by Peggy Seeger. It was released on the Topic label in 1957 – 10T13. The record is in EX condition. The non-laminated cover is of an unusual design. It is made of a single piece of thin orange card that opens out. On the right panel there is glued what effectively is a lined inner-sleeve and the disc is retained in that. A single piece of paper is stuck to both the front cover and the inside left panel. The front shows the title – Shuttle and Cage – Industrial Folk Ballads, and shows what looks to be a factory worker wiping his hands on a cloth. Where this sheet goes over onto the reverse it has the track listing and notes about each of the songs, as well as the details of Topic Records Ltd – 27 Nassington Road, London NW3. Just as the record is in great condition, this cover shows only minimal signs of storage. It has no rips, no writing, not stickers or grazes.
