Well, this was the start of something HUGE! Here we have the very first pressing of the Beatles' first released album, from the 22nd of March 1963.
It was the first and only time the MONO version was released before the STEREO version.
She entered the charts on the 6th of April and climbed to the top slot-staying there for a huge CONSECUTIVE 30 weeks, from May!...Maybe HUGE is too small a word for it?!

Side 2: XEX 422-1N

The Vinyl:
HEAVYWEIGHT 169g
VG.
I have just finished listening to the whole album and found an honest, clear sound reproduction. The first track on side 1 really kicks out with absolute power :)...As The Beatles wanted YOU to hear them on their first album release!
There is some light backgound noise, but this really wasn't evident when during playbaclk of the tracks, mainly inbetween tracks-but it is a light crackle, that's all. I noticed it more on Taste of Honey. It really sounds wonderfully raw and full of energy.
I noticed a very slight undulation on playback when on my deck, but it is very slight and it had no effect on the audio playback.
QUALITY VINYL
-WITH A POWERFUL SOUND REPRODUCTION-
THEY KNEW HOW TO MAKE THEM BACK THEN :)
The labels:
VG-.
FIRSTLY-LET'S NOTE THE RARE FACTORY SAMPLE STICKER!...These copies were used for quality control and not many of them are around as you can imagine.
Other than that:
The labels are the more unusual and rarer version with the corrected credits. Instead of the first printings of these labels, where around 25,000 were made, with the Dick James credits. These labels are the 2nd print with the corrected Northern Songs credits.....
ONLY 12,000 of these were made.
CORRECTED Songs 1 & 2 on side 1 as well as songs 4 & 6 on side 2
There is only very light light central hole wear to both sides of each label-please see the detailed pictures provided.
There is a name in pen to each side, but it is in dark ink, so not overtly evident. There is also a degree of rubbing at around 10 O'clock-where it looks like there may have been some blue liquid spilt on the label and then quickly mopped up-Please see the detailed images for yourselves....It has tinged the factory sample label slightly.
The Parlophone Company' edge lower case text.
NO 'Sold In The UK' text.
NO 'First Published' text,
Small 33 1/3
The "MT" tax code is clearly visible to the naked eye, on side 1.
The Cover:
VG.
ORIGINAL Ernest. J. Day 1st printing run cover.
with the Angus McBean to the very bottom right corner, on the front. The front cover remains very bright.
She does have some wear-as can be seen in the detailed images provided-Cellotaped to the back bottom flipback, but that really is all as there is NO WRITING ANYWHERE.
The spine is is superb strong shape too-and remains clearly legible.
ALL ORIGINAL!!
WOULD STILL LOOK GOOD FRAMED.
HEAVY-WEIGHT LAMINATED CARD COVER
The inner:
EX+!
1st printing run of this inner too!! It carries the much rarer text: "Patents Applied For" as well as the usual "Made In England"
All original "Use Emitex" tracing-paper lined inner. In TOP SHAPE!
NO SPLITS & NO WRITING
PLEASE SEE THE DETAILED IMAGES PROVIDED AND READ MY HONEST FEEDBACK FOR TRUE GRADINGS AND CUSTOMER SATISFACTION
ALL IN ALL THIS IS THE MUCH RARER FACTORY SAMPLE OF THE EVEN RARER 2ND COPY OF THE BEATLES' VERY FIRST EXPLOSION ONTO THE SCENE-A SCENE WHICH WOULD REMAIN CHANGED FOREVER FOLLOWING THIS RELEASE.
SHE WOULD SIT PROUD IN ANYONES COLLECTION.
