Description
FAITH Subject to Change EP Test Pressing Only 40 Made !
DESCRIPTION: Up for auction is a mint condition test pressing of Faith's "Subject To Change" 12" EP (Dischord Records No. 11, Washington, DC, 1983). Black vinyl, with standard Diskmakers Test Pressing label (with no information filled in). Housed in plastic-lined paper sleeve, with "11" handwritten in the upper righthand corner by me (Jeff Nelson) when we first got the test pressings from the record plant. I am also including a little promotional postcard Dischord sent out, advertising the Faith "Subject To Change" record.THIS IS THE ONLY "Subject to Change" TEST PRESSING I WILL EVER SELL.
"Subject to Change" was Faith's second record, their first being Dischord No. 8, a split release with the band Void. "Subject to Change" featured the 5-member lineup of the band, with Alec MacKaye on vocals, Michael Hampton on guitar, Eddie Janney on guitar, Chris Bald on bass, and Ivor Hanson on drums. After Faith broke up, Alec played in Ignition, and The Warmers. Michael, Chris and Ivor joined Alec's brother Ian to form Embrace, considered to be one of the first "emo" bands. Eddie went on to play in Rites of Spring, Happy Go Licky, and One Last Wish. Chris played in Ignition and Chris Bald 96. Michael played in One Last Wish, and Michael and Ivor played in Manifesto.
This test pressing was for the first record we pressed at Diskmakers in Philadelphia, after working with Nashville Record Productions for our first two years as a company. There were only 40 test pressings made. The first pressing we did was on translucent blue vinyl, and this pressing in pink vinyl was made in 1985/86. I remember clearly driving home from the pressing plant, and seeing if we could drive the van while looking through the translucent blue vinyl!
CONDITION/PROVENANCE: This record has never been played. Record and jacket are mint (see photos). This record comes from my (Jeff Nelson, Minor Threat/Dischord Records) personal archives, which are being downsized after continuing to be described vaiously as "too big" and "insane" or containing "more than my potential kids or grandkids will ever want." Please see my auction for lots of other punk/hardcore flyers and records as well as other jetsam I'll be putting up for sale.
SHIPPING: Record will be packed flat between multiple sheets of strong cardboard and inside a proper LP cardboard mailer. Within USA, Priority Mail will be calculated at auction's end. I'm adding $ 3.00 in "Handling Costs" to cover Insurance and Delivery Confirmation.
Outside of USA, reasonable Airmail rates apply. I'll be happy to give you a quote for postage to your country. International buyers: I WILL SEND YOU AN E-MAIL INVOICE WITH YOUR TOTAL AND SHIPPING OPTIONS. PLEASE DO NOT PAY UNTIL YOU RECEIVE AN E-MAIL FROM ME. If you might bid on some other records or flyers I have up for auction, just let me know - I'll be happy to combine shipping, and in so doing save you money, me effort, and the Earth trees... Thanks for looking!
REFUNDS: I guarantee 100% the authenticity of everything I am selling, and strive to describe the condition of items as accurately as possible. I will only accept returns if you have e-mailed me first and I have agreed to refund your money.
