Description
FAMILY - " MUSIC IN A DOLL'S HOUSE ", Reprise Records (RSLP 6312) 1968.
Very rare, original 1967 English stereo, first issue of Family's landmark debut album.
Produced by Dave Mason and engineered by Eddie Kramer.
UK 1st issue, denoted by 'Steamboat' label design, front laminated flip-back sleeve, picture insert and matrix numbers ending in A-3G and B-3G.
Matrix Numbers = RSLP 6312 A-3G and RSLP 6312 B-3G.
Professionally cleaned on my Moth record cleaning machine and put in a new poly-lined inner sleeve.
CONDITION:
VINYL = EX- (No deep scratches, groove damage, excessive surface noise, distortion, etc. Clean labels with only light spindle trails. Under the scrutiny of a bright grading lamp there are some paper scuffs and some very faint hairline surface marks on both sides. Luckily, this is a well pressed 60s record with deep grooves and as such, these minor cosmetic imperfections do not affect playback. Apart from a little bit of very faint surface noise in the silences before and between tracks and just a couple of extremely faint background ticks as the record plays out in it's entirety, it actually plays really well - strong and vibrant audio, free from interuptions and with none of the dullness or slight distortion associated with overplaying that seems to afflict so many copies of this record. So not quite 'museum piece' condition sure, but still a good honest copy of a rare record ready to be played and enjoyed as originally intended. Still vastly superior to some sterile, remastered CD issue too!
Note: for the purposes of this listing I have tested this LP on my Linn LP12 Sondek turntable - generally this is quite a critical test, but I must point out that I cannot guarantee exactly how this LP will sound on your turntable - common sense for most... but then this is ebay!!!)
SLEEVE = V.G.+ (In reasonable shape, no monsters creases, tears, etc. There is wear to the edges and corners and there are smaller creases in the laminate, both thumb creases and some eminating from the edges. The rear sleeve is not bad but suffering from "RW" and "170" written in small, but in black pen - see photos for further clarification)
