Description

Cool and very hard to find album of Boogie instrumentals and early Rock and Roll cuts. When Derby Records went  out of business in 1954, RCA purchased the Freddie Mitchell masters and released them on this album. Side One  has  5 songs- "Moon Dog Boogie" (later made into Alan Freed's "Rock And Roll Boogie"), "Home Sweet Home", "Mary Anna", "Mama Inez" and "Long Lean Daddy" which features great vocals from Sarah Dean. Side Two has  these five tunes- "Roll "Em Boogie", "National Emblem", "The Wedding March", "Louise" and "I Got Your Boogie"  which again features fine vocals from Sarah Dean.     The cover and record are in strong very good + / excellent condition- the cover has tight seams with no rips, tears,  splits etc. and no writing. There is some wear along the right side opening- nothing major though.  The record is in  the same condition and does not appear to have been played much- there are  some very light clicks  at the very  end of "Mary Anna" and at the beginning of "Mama Inez"- the rest of Side One plays with no problems. Side Two is in about the same condition- there are a few light clicks near the intro of "Louise". On "I Got Your Boogie", there are  a few light clicks and one pop that occurs but, all of this happens before the vocal kicks in - the rest of the song plays  fine.            This album doesn't show up often - please bid accordingly. Thanks for looking !!
