Description

Here's four nice collectible records, all in the Doo-Wop genre.

We start with the Flamingos - Flamingo Serenade (End LP-304, mono with running dog label, CV $100) from 1959.   Cover is a nearly perfect M- and very fresh, just popped out of the shrink with two small spots on back cover, otherwise perfect.  Record looks about VG+ with a few scuffs.  It plays OK with some noise between songs and at the quiet portions of the songs.   Labels are nice but one side has sticker stain (shown in pic below).   Overall, this is a great way to try out this classic black R&B Doo-Wop group, it contains their biggest hit (I Only Have Eyes For You) and the rest are great also.   You probably know that perfect mint copies of this stuff are extremely scarce.

Next is the Greatest Hits of Little Anthony and the Imperials (Roulette R-25294, mono orange/yellow first label, CV $25) from 1965.   Cover has some scuffs at top left and a water stain at bottom left (see pic).   Back cover looks great except a minor water stain at bottom right (see pic).  Record looks M- and plays with just a little noise here or there, pretty solid.    Naturally this includes all their greats including Tears on My Pillow, Shimmy Shimmy Lo Lo Bop and some great ballads.   Again, a great way to try out this group's classic recordings on an early greatest hits package.

Third is the Orioles - Modern Sounds of the Orioles Greatest Hits (Charlie Parker Records PLP-816, mono with yellow label, CV $100) from 1962.  Front cover is a M- and is absolutely perfect, most unusual for a black cover, no wear at all.   Back cover is white and fresh with a few tiny spots, hard to see.   LP is M-, again nearly perfect.    It plays OK with tiny noise, again between songs and during some of the quiet portions of songs.

Lastly, we have the Vibrations - Misty (Okeh OKM12112, mono purple label, CV $40) from 1965.   Cover is M-, no problems, small cutout hole top left.   Vinyl looks M- and plays with a tiny amount of surface noise.    This LP contains their dreamy doowop interpretations of pop standards like "Stardust" and "I WIsh You Love" - a makeout album for sure!  It is pretty obscure, this is the first copy of it I've ever seen.

My 1999 Osborne catalog lists this group at $265.   Only a couple of these are M- but the rest are a solid VG+ and all play great with light surface noise in places.  This is a great opportunity for you to add some better LP's to your collection of great Doo-Wop.   Start bid is a modest $14.99.

Please look at my other records on ebay right now, I have another nice group of doo-wop albums including the Cadillacs.

This is part of a huge collection I am selling for a widow, her husband was a dilligent record collector for nearly 50 years.   Most of the material from this collection was cleaned with a Nitty Gritty Record Cleaning machine and is carefully graded and sorted for sale by groups and categories, there is alot of M- stuff in this group so please keep checking back in the weeks to come to see it.

Shipping is $9.00 for Priority Mail with minimal insurance within U.S.  If you live in another country, it will be sent Priority Mail with insurance for $36.

Please check my feedback, I've been on ebay since 1999 and have nearly 500 satisfied buyers with almost no negatives, people love my ebay lots.   Good luck!
