WELL, I had to find it sooner or later! This LP has it ALL! It's quite literally the FIRST LP ever made! Columbia records pressed this LP in the year 1948, and it was never re-issued even in the box sets, so the songs were lost with the discontinuing of this ULTRA RARE 10" EP.  The LP is scratchless and the jacket is made from PAPER stock, but still looks great with NO seam tears or even CREASES... amazing!

I have gone to the trouble of recording a small sample of this ACTUAL LP and uploading the MP3 so you can hear how great this old LP sounds, and show you the quality of copies that I can make in my recording studio. Just click on any of the underlined text at the bottom to hear Frank exactly as he would have sounded in 1946. I would reccomend having a copy made to keep the wear off of this amazing original LP.

   LP's were originally pressed to go along with the first sound movies in the mid-late 20's, since at 33 1/3, they were able to make a spur gear that synched up to the drive gear for the film sprocket and synchronize the sound and picture together (theoretically), but no LP's were sold to the general public until THIS LP was first marketed in 1948.

Make no mistake, this is an original near mint pressing of the original FIRST Lp in the 6000 series, being the first series from the originators of LP technology Columbia records.

Rightfully, Frank Sinatra has been praised as the one who invented "concept albums“, i.e. albums that did not just assemble a couple of songs but had them in a specific order enhancing the album’s theme(s). Many people have his legendary Capitol album output in mind when referring to this – it is little known still, however, that the invention of the concept album dates back prior to the invention of LPs!

An "album“ was, in the 40s, a collection of 4 78inch rpm singles (which means, 8 songs), issued in a set (album) with coherent liner notes and presented in a special order. In July and December of 1945, Frank Sinatra laid down 8 recordings for such an album, that was issued in March 1946 under the title "The Voice Of Frank Sinatra“. Two years later, the album was re-issued by Columbia as their very first LP.

This "lost" album is as important to the development of Sinatra's career as any other album issued in his long career. Finding the original 78 albums is extremely difficult, the 10" counterparts, almost impossible, but no collection would be complete without them.
