Up for grabs is an impossibly rare TEST PRESSING of Frank Zappa's 1979 classic 'Sleep Dirt'.
This is the test pressing for the first vinyl pressing on the Discreet label, which contained mixes that weren't subsequently released on any other format until 2012. This came directly from the estate of a former Warner Brothers employee and is an authentic test press. I cannot state whether or not this has alternate mixes on it - I did a side-by-side comparison of a few songs with a retail copy, and both sounded very similar. A more trained ear may spot potential differences.
Both sides of the vinyl have identical white generic WB labels. It is in EX condition - there is some light streaking, but nothing that created background noise (purely cosmetic). There is some light noise on the lead-in, but it didn't seem to continue into the music. On the lead-out grooves, it is etched DSK-1-2292 * / DSK-2-2292 *. The sleeve is the normal generic white sleeve that accompanies most test pressing. If you're a Zappa fan (I'm assuming that you are if you're reading this!), I'd highly recommend checking out my other auctions - I'm selling a few other sealed Zappa records, along with some even rarer test pressings!

I've been shipping records for years, and use industry-standard LP mailers with padding and stiffeners.
