(UK VERVE SELECT, 2683 004, 1966 [1972])
RARE FIRST UK DOUBLE PRESSING of FZ's legendary debut! The original 1966 UK pressing was a single disc release, with some tracks removed and the rest cobbled together on two sides. The gatefold sleeve design was also eliminated for the normal front cover and a more plain back cover with just most of the text from the original inside gatefold. The 1972 repressing by Polydor (who had taken over Verve's distribution from EMI in 1970) is identical to the original US double pressing (and this UK pressing is in fact much rarer than the original US pressing, mono or stereo). This is very hard to find now and is one of the best pressings you can get - Polydor really knew what they were doing at this time! The original poly-lined inner sleeves are also included. This one is in great shape! You will be not be disappointed! Don't miss out!
Both discs are in EX+ condition : no visible marks, looks and sounds great overall, nice clean sound, no distortion, lovely!
Gatefold sleeve is in EX condition : very light wear on front and back, edges have light wear, spine has light wear but is still perfectly legible, inside is very clean and looks great
