Description
GRATEFUL DEAD. Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Media Mail. This is the first pressing of the first album by the Grateful Dead, recorded in San Francisco in 1967. This is a Canadian pressing manufactured and distributed in Canada by the Campo company of Quebec. The cover was printed in the USA.The album just known as grateful dead is misprinted on the spine as The Grateful Dead. The cryptic words across the top of the cover translate to in the land of the dark the ship of the sun is driven by? Fitting beginning for a prolific amount of music from the dead.

A very early iteration of the very first pressing.
The cover is excellent. It has a slight wear in the top left corner and a few minor creases. No ring wear no splits spine is excellent. See pictures. The labels are very clean with no spindle marks. The vinyl is shiny and looks new.The only thing that stops this from being almost near mint is a long hairline scratch on side 2 which should not affect the quality of the sound. It comes with the original paper inner cover it does have about a 3 inch split in the bottom. This is a nice copy.
