Description
This auction is for a UNIQUE Platinum Presentation Disc given by Pink Floyd to their long time album cover designer and friend Storm Thorgerson, in recognition of his work on their "A Momentary Lapse Of Reason" album.
This was given to me as a gift by Storm, as was the Big Country disc I've also listed, and I am the only other owner it has had. I'm in the process of having a major clear out of memorabilia, and so it's time this moved on to a new home. I hope it ends up somewhere that it will be properly appreciated.
The frame contains the disc, a cassette marked "Platinum Sales Award", a small reproduction of the album cover ( bottom left ), and a plaque with dedication ( bottom right ). The frame itself is wood, with a clear perspex cover ( not glass ). It is in excellent condition, with only minor cosmetic damage to the frame itself - a small chip to the finish on one back corner, a couple of small chips in the finish on one side ( again at the back ), and a small scuff on the opposite side at the front.
The Photo's; An apology. Unfortunately this proved very difficult to photograph, as the disc and perspex plate are VERY reflective. It took innumerable attempts to get even these pictures, imperfect as they are. All strange shadows, glares and ghost images are only in the photographs, they are not on the disc.
Photo 1) The entire frame with contents. Photo 2) Close up of the dedication plaque. Photo 3) Close up of disc and cassette.
Good luck, and thanks for looking.
MAILING FEES: I charge the exact cost of postage on all items, no "extras". I would STRONGLY recommend that this item is shipped with insurance.
