----- ORIGINAL PRESSING MARKERS ----- - Blue Note 47 West 63rd NYC label address, both sides (no INC, no R) - Deep groove both sides, verified by touch - Hand-etched BN-LP-1540-A / BN-LP-1540-B in the deadwax - RVG stamp both sides - Plastylite ear (P) both sides - 9M etching in deadwax - Flat edge, heavy vinyl pressing - Frame cover with 767 Lexington Ave address on the back slick, consistent with this transitional pressing
----- THE MUSIC ----- A one-of-a-kind Blue Note session: three horns up front, with a teenage Lee Morgan and Donald Byrd flanking Mobley, driven by Horace Silver, Paul Chambers, and Charlie Persip. Four Mobley originals including Touch and Go and Mobleymania. Recorded by Rudy Van Gelder, cover design by Reid Miles, photo by Francis Wolff. One of the scarcer entries in the 1500 series.
----- CONDITION ----- VINYL: Very Good Plus (VG+), graded visually - not play tested. An exceptionally clean example for this title. The surfaces retain their original factory gloss and show only the faintest hairlines under strong raking light - the kind of copy where you have to hunt for flaws. No feelable scratches anywhere on either side. Labels are bright and clean with no spindle trails, writing, or stickers. This grades VG+ under strict standards, but presents closer to the top of the grade. 1540 rarely surfaces this clean. Please review all photos - they tell the story.
JACKET: Very Good (VG). Frame cover shows edge wear with paper exposure along the opening edge and corner bumps. General seam and edge wear consistent with age. Previous owner name stamp neatly on the back slick. Displays well overall - the front is clean and glossy.
