Description
Decca record album set No. A-306 is "Song Hits for the Paramount Picture Holiday Inn", featuring Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire. It is undated, but the ink presentation on the inside front cover is dated Christmas, 1942. It contains six 10-inch 78 RPM records, in the following order:
Decca # 18424 -- "Happy Holiday" and "Be Careful, It's My Heart" by Bing Crosby
Decca # 18425 -- "Abraham" and "Easter Parade" by Bing Crosby
Decca # 18426 -- "I've Got Plenty to Be Thankful For" and "Song of Freedom" by Bing Crosby
Decca # 18427 -- "I'll Capture Your Heart" by Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire; and "Lazy" by Bing Crosby
Decca # 18428 -- "You're Easy to Dance with" and "I Can't Tell a Lie" by Fred Astaire
Decca # 18429 -- "White Christmas" and "Let's Start the New Year Right" by Bing Crosby
In terms of condition, they all still have some shine to them, but with some scuffs and scratches and dull spots. I played them all on my Audio-Technica turntable, and there were no skips or jumps, and mostly just typical light background hiss, with some occasional pops and clicks and passages of ticking or swishing. Because of variations in tracking ability, filtering devices and needle weights, I can offer no guarantees as to how well they will play on your equipment.
The album itself is in solid and functional condition, with the binding nice and tight and the pocket seams intact, but some typical wear around the edges and spine.
