Extremely rare ORIGINAL Telefunken 78rpm record from 1933 – "Horst-Wessel-Lied / Märkische Heide"

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

Released on April 5, 1933, just two months after Fürhrer was appointed Chancellor of Germany (Jan 30, 1933). This record captures the immediate propaganda efforts of the Nazi regime. At the time of its release:

• The Reichstag Fire had just occurred (Feb 27), used by the Nazis to consolidate power.

• The Enabling Act was passed (Mar 23), giving Hitler dictatorial powers.

• The SA (Sturmabteilung) was still in full force, playing a central role in Nazi propaganda and street intimidation.

This recording is a direct product of those early days — not a later reproduction. A Telefunken first pressing released in Berlin, marking it as an original relic of one of the most significant political transitions in modern history.

CONDITION – STUNNING FOR ITS AGE!

This record is in exceptional condition, especially considering its age and historical significance. The "Horst-Wessel-Lied" side shows minimal signs of careful use — likely played only a handful of times. There are a few short surface marks, barely visible and with no effect on playback. Some very light groove wear, but the audio remains loud and vibrant!

• Grade: E- For this side — a very well-preserved example with strong sound quality.

The reverse side, "Märkische Heide," is in even better shape: clean, glossy, and bright with no notable wear or visual flaws. Audio playback is exceptionally crisp for a nearly century-old 78rpm record.
