Description

First tentative toe back into the selling market after a 12 month lockdown layoff and what a belter to kick off with!!

Horse - Self-Titled original U.K. release from 1970.

Stunning survivor copy of this 1970 hard rock/psych classic.

Released on RCA Victor in the U.K. this 10-track album was the band’s one and only LP.

Rare as hen’s teeth and incredibly sought after. Copies rarely emerge, and it’s even more remarkable to find one in this condition.

Vinyl: Ex. This is a 51 year old LP and I have no hesitation in grading it excellent. Super-clean with only the very lightest of superficial surface marks and retaining a glorious lustre and sheen. Play-tested in full and the reproduction is sublime. Faultless. No jumps, skips or scratches at all. (There is a little dust crackle here and there but nothing to spoil an amazing audio) Stereo separation is really crisp with a relentless rhythm section thundering along behind clear guitars and menacing vocals.

Labels are standard RCA Victor design. Orange with black label-text, white logo and rim-text. The labels are clean and free from scuffs, stains and blemishes and there is hardly any discernible spindle-wear.

Sleeve: Ex Remarkable condition for its age. Laminated front cover with a devilish looking black horse illustration on a plum coloured background and florid green lettering. The rear of the sleeve is unlaminated and has some slight age discolouration, typical of plain white card sleeves. There are black and white portrait photos of the band alongside tracklisting and album credits.

The vinyl is housed in a plain white paper die-cut.

Structurally, the sleeve is in super condition. The laminate is entirely intact with no splits or tears, just some understandable minor creasing. The edges are still crisp and the spine has no damage.

This is without doubt, a lovely surviving copy of a rare album. Those who bought it back in the day will have bought it to play it to death, yet this one appears to have escaped the rigours of being carried around and hammered at parties!!
