Indian Summer
(RCA Neon NE3 UK 1971)
One of the very best UK underground progressive rock albums!
Sleeve: VG – Thick matt card gatefold, very similar in construction to a lot of the Vertigo sleeves, condition is generally pretty good but not perfect.
The front is clean with no in marks or creasing, there’s a tiny sticker tear on the Neon logo in the top right corner (and I do mean tiny! It’s literally 2 white dots). There’s some light scuffing to the black parts but with this sleeve that’s almost inevitable, it’s a very tough sleeve to find without any wear..
The rear sleeve is in similar condition, clean with no major damage but it does have some light ringwear. The top and bottom seams are heavily scuffed.
Inside the gatefold is clean and tidy, the only flaw being some creasing near the fold but that’s a regular feature of this type of sleeve due to the way that they were constructed.
The spine, which incidentally is very wide, is fine at the bottom but has some scuffing at the top, the writing is still legible though.
Both labels are clean and free from any sort of wear or damage.
Record: EX – Excellent quality thick vinyl which reproduces the excellent music superbly.
The vinyl is very clean and has no visible surface marks, even when held under a very harsh lamp there aren’t any marks visible. When played the sound is great with a dynamic quality which makes the music just leap from the speakers. The sound is clean and clear throughout with no annoying surface noise other than the occasional dust crackle between tracks.
A nice copy of an increasingly hard album to find.
