Description

This is the counterfeit “US version,” produced – and purchased by me – in the 1970s.  The vinyl looks better than VG++ to my eyes, very shiny, with numerous very light surface scratches that shouldn’t affect play.  That said, this 45 was played four or five times after I first picked it up, as I don’t recall thinking of it as some rare treasure.   Now, however, I stand corrected, in that I have never again seen one for sale.

Please note: I tried to be conservative when describing and grading this record, but I am much more experienced at buying these things than selling them.   I think the ultimate buyer will be very happy with this record.  It is certainly a rarity.

As for shipping, I will open this auction to overseas buyers.  The high cost reflects tracking and insurance, which I will add.  Please keep this extra cost in mind while bidding.

SELLER’S CLARIFICATION: SINCE THERE IS A LOT OF INTEREST IN THIS 45, I WANTED TO MAKE SURE ONE THING WAS CLEAR, BECAUSE MY “BETTER THAN VG++” MIGHT SEEM AT ODDS WITH THE “NUMEROUS VERY LIGHT SURFACE SCRATCHES.”    THIS RECORD IS NOT M-, AND I WAS TEMPTED TO USE THE NON-STANDARD EXCELLENT- OR EXCELLENT (STILL A GRADE BELOW MINT).  BUT THE 45 HAS SEEN VERY LITTLE PLAY, AND SHOWS NO DAMAGE THAT I CAN SEE FROM HAVING BEEN PLAYED.  IT WAS STORED IN A HARD CARDBOARD SLEEVE FOR DECADES, AND STAYED THERE FOR THE MOST PART.  SO WHILE IT LOOKS LIKE IT WAS SLIPPED IN AND OUT OF THE SLEEVE NUMEROUS TIMES, IT WAS NOT.   I THINK THE VINYL PROBABLY HAD THESE LIGHT MARKINGS WHEN I BOUGHT IT, AS IT IS AGAIN, A COUNTERFEIT ISSUE FROM THE 1970S.  (AND I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER.)  I AM ADDING THIS NOTE BECAUSE I DON’T WANT ANYONE TO BE DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE THEY ARE EXPECTING A FLAWLESS RECORD.  IT DOES HAVE THE VERY LIGHT SURFACE SCRATCHES, BUT IT IS AN EXTREMELY RARE RECORD THAT HAS BEEN HANDLED WITH CARE.  THANKS, AND GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR BIDDING.
